Talkeetna - zip lining - July 15, 2014

Fairly early this morning, Jim, Dee, Marcella, Gary, and I went zip lining.  It was great fun.  There were 9 stations to zip to, some of them about 70 feet in the air.  The two girls who were guiding us from station were delightful and made it so enjoyable. The last zip line was over a small lake and was 300 feet long.  I was pretty apprehensive in the beginning but ended up mastering it pretty will by the end and didn't want it to be over.  We had to hold our hands over the connection to the line and use our right hand to stop us.  Of course we had gloves and the right one had an extra layer so we could laAy it on the wire to stop us.  I did want to "break" a little too early sometimes for fear of knocking everyone off the station. ha  Gary wasn't going to go but decided to go the last minute.  Of course, he keep everyone in stitches.  The girl said when we were getting our gear on, "I can see you are going to be trouble."

After we got back to the campground, we all went to the Flying Squirrel for lunch.  If you think that is a quirky name then it is a very different restaurant.  It is very trendy and has a different variety of things on the menu.  We all enjoy being together especially for food.  Speaking of food, Jeff and Marcella fixed chicken enchiladas for all of us for supper.  Again we enjoyed good food and good friends.
