We spent the day touring Anchorage today. The day started off cloudy and cool. Periodically the sun came out. It sure made a difference in the temperature when it did. My coat was put on and taken off many times.
Jeff, Marcella, and I drove south of Anchorage a few miles to Potter Marsh. There is an extensive boardwalk there for wildlife/bird viewing. We saw a bald eagle fly down, catch something, then carry it to a nest in the top of a tree. There were also several different kinds of birds.
Later, the six of us went to downtown to do a little exploring. Near the parking lot where we parked, was a street music/vender festival. We spent some time walking through it. It was not much different that ones in other parts of the country. Then we got some information at the visitor center, hit a couple of gift shops, the ulu factory, at lunch, drove to Lake Hood for some airplane watching, and spent some time in the Alaska Aviation Museum.
Lake Hood is the worlds largest and busiest seaplane base with approximately 500 take offs and landings on a peak summer day. There were several take offs and landings in the short time we spent there.
It was an enjoyable day and we are all ready for a relaxing evening. We will stay here in Gold Nugget Campground again tonight.

The flowers were awesome and so is the guy
There was basket after basket hanging downtown
He cheated! He didn't really go fishing.
