I couldn't get on wifi yesterday so am a day late. Pictures will not load, I am assuming. We will see.
We toured around Ninilchik and Kenai - saw lots of eagles and two mama moose and babies. South of Kenai, we watched the sustenance local fishermen/women net fishing. They put their nets out at low tide and wait until high tide to pull them in. The nets are probably 80 ft long and 5 or 6 feet deep. They had to get them out by 3 o'clock. The most we saw anyone have was 4 fish. Some less and some none. Seemed like a lot of work but the fish were 24 inches or less so guess it would make a good meal or two.
There are 2 Russian Orthodox Churches in the area that we visited. We also stopped at several sites to watch people fishing and view the mountains.
The most amazing is the amount of eagles around here. I know at one place there were about 20 or more.
The pictures are taking 15 min. to load so this is all I have the patience for.
