Seward to Ninilchik - June 22, 2014

Before we left Seward today, we went on a moose hunt.  The reward was a sighting of a mama and a calf.  We also drove around to the opposite side of Resurrection Bay from the campground.  There was no more wildlife to be found but we enjoyed the drive and the different scenery anyway.

We left Seward about 11 and traveled north on the Seward Highway, the same one we drove south on until we reached the intersection to the Sterling Highway then headed west and south toward out destination, Ninilchik.  There was quite a bit of traffic with it being the end of summer solstice weekend.  The salmon must have been running in the Kenai River because there were many fishermen lined up along the river.

We reached the Alaskan Angler campground about 3.  Four years ago, we stayed at Scenic View RV park.  It was such a fabulous/beautiful campground on a bluff overlooking Cook Inlet but it is closed this year for upgrading.  No so this campground.  There is no view and sites extremely close together.  We are planning to stay here 3 nights.  Jeff, Marcella, Jim, and Dee are scheduled to go on a fishing charter Tues.
